The ATP Masters 1000 tournament takes place at Foro Italico, at Roma, from May 6th to 17th.

The Italian is looking for his first title in Roma. Ele reached the finals in the 2025 edition, but lost to Carlos Alcaraz. A win now would complete Career Golden Masters, a feat achieved only by Novak Djokovic to date. Sinner is going through a great phase and has accumulated recent victories in Masters 1000.

Chave of Sinner has Italians and early challenges

The upper section of the bracket holds interesting clashes for the favorite. In the third round, Sinner can cross with the Czech Jakub Mensik, the Australian Alexei Popyrin or the Italian Matteo Berrettini. Mensik defeated Sinner once in 2026, in Doha.

Berrettini, who received an invitation, debuted against Popyrin. Outros Italians appear in the same half. Lorenzo Sonego plays against Ignacio Buse in the first round. Flavio Cobolli and Lorenzo Musetti, seeded 8, also represent the country.

Lower Metade brings together Djokovic, Zverev and Musetti

Novak Djokovic returns after injury. The Serbian, six-time champion in Roma, starts against Marton Fucsovics or qualifier. Ele shares quadrant with Musetti, Jiri Lehecka and Casper Ruud. A possible Djokovic-Musetti duel in the quarterfinals would excite the local public.

Sinner in search of historic mark on Roman clay

The current number 1 has eight different Masters 1000 on his resume. Roma is the only one missing from Golden Masters. Ele has 28 straight wins at the Masters 1000 level and is 30-2 on the season. The favoritism is clear, but clay requires constant adaptation.

Foro Italico welcomes the event with high expectations. Torcedores Italians fill the stands to support the national representatives. Sinner, as the main local star, carries the burden of defending pride at home. The tournament also serves as preparation for Roland Garros.

Playing conditions on Roman clay favor complete players. Saques, long exchanges and movement define the duels. Sinner has shown progress on this surface in recent years, even without the trophy yet.
