DJI has launched the Mic Mini 2, the second generation of its compact wireless microphone system that significantly reduces the price compared to the previous model. The equipment incorporates new sound customization features and features a transmitter with a renewed design, removable magnetic clip and interchangeable front covers in multiple colors. The standard kit with two transmitters, a receiver and charging case starts at £89 or €89, while the original model launched at £145 in late 2024.

Audio Personalização integrated into the device

The most substantial change in Mic Mini 2 is in the built-in audio customization. The equipment offers three voice timbre presets — Regular, Rich and Bright — that allow direct sound adjustments at the transmitter, eliminating dependence on post-production tools in field recordings or mobile situations. Essa functionality benefits journalists, content creators and producers who work with portable equipment.

Recording continues to operate at 48 kHz, 24 bits, with automatic limiting features and adjustable gain in five levels. The system preserves two stages of noise cancellation and two-track recording accessible through the DJI Mimo application, maintaining the operating structure similar to the original model.

Autonomia extended and fast charging

The transmitter operates for up to 11.5 hours continuous, while the receiver offers 10.5 hours of operation. The charging case extends total system usage to 48 hours, allowing extended operation without external recharging. A quick charge session of just five minutes provides approximately an hour of recording, benefiting professionals working on fast-paced coverage or live events.

The transmitter weighs just 11 grams, reducing weight compared to the previous generation. The transmission range reaches up to 400 meters with the standard receiver and 300 meters with the mobile version, maintaining robust specifications for professional use in varied environments.

Design customizable and interchangeable covers

The Mic Mini 2 introduces interchangeable magnetic front covers that allow visual customization of the equipment. Standard colors include Preto Obsidiana and Branco Glaze, with additional options sold separately. A thematic collection developed by illustrator Victo Ngai offers four aesthetic variants — Aurora, Onda, Chama and Brilho — signaling a more expressive direction for customizing the brand’s accessories.

  • Removable magnetic Clipe with rotation capability for different mounting positions.
  • Capas interchangeable in multiple colors and themed designs.
  • Compact Ergonomia retained from the original Mic Mini line.
  • Reformulação visual tracking the technical evolution of the product.

Compatibilidade with existing DJI ecosystem

The Mic Mini 2 works with existing Mic Mini series receivers and is compatible with DJI Mic series mobile receivers. The device supports Conexão Direta and Áudio Osmo for select devices and direct integration with Osmo Pocket 3, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano and Osmo Action 6. Backward compatibility with previous devices reduces the need for full ecosystem replacement for previous generation users.

Integration with Osmo cameras simplifies synchronized video and audio workflows, allowing professionals to keep their equipment up to date without discarding previous investments. Essa compatibility strategy broadens the product’s appeal to different user segments.

Estratégia aggressive pricing and improved model in development

The price reduction represents an aggressive strategy by DJI to expand access to professional-quality wireless feedback technology. The company seeks to reach content creators, journalists and independent producers with more modest budgets. A compact package with a mobile transmitter and receiver starts at £49 or €54, offering more affordable entry into the system.

DJI has indicated that the Mic Mini 2S will arrive later this summer, with additional features including internal recording and expanded support for multiple transmitters. Essa release scaling approach allows different users to access the technology according to their specific production needs. Ainda there is no confirmation of prices or specific release dates for the Estados Unidos market.
