Pokémon GO Fest 2026 introduces Mega Mewtwo in two forms with new powers

Pokémon GO Fest 2026 marks a historic moment for the franchise by introducing Mega Mewtwo in two distinct forms for the first time. Mega Mewtwo Os Pokémon captured in Super Mega Raids will arrive with at least one Mega level unlocked, eliminating the initial consumption of Megaenergia. Treinadores will hopefully be able to find rare specimens at Mega levels 2 or 3, significantly increasing their offensive and defensive power.

Mega Raids and obtaining Megaenergia during the event

Megaenergia of Mewtwo X and Mewtwo Y will be obtained mainly through Super Mega Raids during GO Fest. Treinadores must defeat Mega Mewtwo X to collect Mega Energia Mewtwo X and face Mega Mewtwo Y to obtain their version of Megaenergia. Event Desafios Temporários will also reward these valuable resources, offering multiple accumulation opportunities.

Os Mewtwo captured in Super Mega Raids will have the special background of the event location, creating unique collections for each city. Essa visual change permanently marks the achievement of coaches who participated in in-person or global experiences. Treinadores can complete Desafios of Tempo into Áreas of Cidade to guarantee encounters with both forms of Mewtwo. Upon completing two or more of these challenges, the player will be able to choose to face Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y, both with the first level Mega already activated.

Transformações on Mega Evolução system

Niantic implements significant adjustments to Mega Evolução’s progression. Mega level advancement now occurs more quickly, allowing trainers to boost their Pokémon more efficiently. A future update will allow you to use remaining Megaenergia to quickly level up Mega without waiting for the daily cooldown, greatly speeding up creature buffs.

Pokémon with multiple Mega Evolução forms now have individual level progression for each form. Mewtwo X and Mewtwo Y will maintain separate counters, requiring their own specific Megaenergia. Para Mega Charizard Essa structural change primarily benefits players who collect multiple variations of the same creature, rewarding dedication and strategy diversification.

Movimentos exclusive to captured on GO Fest

Os Mewtwo captured by trainers with tickets to in-person events will know two special moves: Contra-Attack and Ruptura Psíquica. Durante the global event period, Mewtwo captured in Super Mega Raid with Mega Mewtwo X will learn Contra-Attack, while those defeated by Mega Mewtwo Y will learn Ruptura Psíquica. Esses moves are event exclusive, making them highly sought after by competitive trainers. TM Movimentação will not allow you to learn these techniques later, increasing the value of Mewtwo captured during GO Fest.

Cronograma from host cities

Pokémon GO Fest 2026 in-person experiences take place in three global metropolises during specific time periods. Tóquio will host the event from May 25th to June 1st. Chicago continues from June 4th to 7th. Copenhague finalizes the city round from June 11th to 14th. Treinadores who visit multiple cities will be able to complete up to three sets of Desafios from Tempo, receiving different rewards for each location.

As Experiências Urbanas offers Desafios of Tempo branches that, upon completion, guarantee initial encounters with Mega Mewtwo X or Y with the first Mega level unlocked. Durante as Sessões on Parque, a new special gym will emerge in the last 30 minutes, bringing together more than a thousand trainers in a collaborative Super Mega Raid against Mewtwo. The Mewtwo captured in this epic battle will receive the special location background, making it a unique trophy for in-person participation.
