Spotify launches DJ with artificial intelligence in 75 countries with Portuguese support
Spotify has expanded its AI-powered DJ service to over 75 countries, now reaching Premium users in strategic Europa, Ásia and América Latina markets. The streaming platform has activated support for four new languages: French, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese, each with a unique DJ character adapted to the local pronunciation.
Novos Custom DJs for each language
The expansion features four AI assistants with distinct identities. Maïa serves French-speaking users, Ben offers recommendations in German, Alex works with Italian audiences, and Dani interacts with Brazilian listeners. Cada DJ maintains the same music history analysis and track recommendation functionality, but with specific linguistic and cultural adaptations for each market.

The feature works through natural language commands, both voice and typed. Users can request music for specific moments, activities, or emotional moods, and artificial intelligence interprets these broad intentions to assemble personalized selections. The system combines tracks the listener frequently listens to, forgotten old songs and recent releases, complemented by occasional commentary from the DJ.
Mercados who gain access to the service
Geographic availability now spans eight major countries across different continents:
- Brasil and Portugal on América Latina and Europa Ibérica.
- França, Alemanha, Itália and Áustria in Europa Continental.
- Suíça in the alpine region.
- Coreia from Sul to Ásia.
Esses markets represent strategic regions for the platform, with emphasis on the expanded presence in Portuguese-speaking and Germanic territories. The inclusion of Brasil consolidates Spotify’s position in América Latina, while Portugal reinforces penetration in Península Ibérica.

Como access and use personal DJ
The feature remains exclusive to Premium subscribers of Spotify. Usuários on free plans do not have access. Para activate the DJ, simply search for the word “DJ” in the platform’s search field or click on the option available on the home page. The functionality is integrated into the mobile applications and the web version, allowing continuous access on different devices without the need for additional installations.
The system processes varied requests in natural language. A user can ask for “songs to study to,” “tracks for a party,” “relaxing sounds for sleep,” or even recommendations based on specific artists. Artificial intelligence interprets these intentions and provides playlists consistent with the requested context, keeping the experience personalized and dynamic.
Evolução Continuous Service
The expansion follows the development pattern that began in October of the previous year, when Spotify added support for Spanish and released typed requests functionality, expanding beyond voice-only interactions. The addition of four simultaneous languages represents a significant leap in the platform’s internationalization strategy, reflecting the continued investment in artificial intelligence technology for musical personalization.
