The BYD Yuan Pro is no longer the most affordable electric SUV to the Brasil. Chevrolet Spark EUV now occupies this position with a price of R$154,990, while the Chinese model continues to be sold for R$182,990. Apesar from loss of initial competitiveness, the Yuan Pro maintains strengths that justify its presence in the electrified compact market, but it also carries significant limitations that deserve consideration before purchase.
Testado by the team of vehicle specialists, the Yuan Pro reveals a balanced proposal between comfort, finish and performance. The performance positions the SUV as the second fastest in its category, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, just 0.3 seconds behind the Fiat Fastback and Pulse Abarth duo. Front electric Motor delivers 177 horsepower and 29.5 kgfm of torque, a configuration that explains the speed when starting off again.
Acabamento and comfort increase perception of quality
The construction quality of the Yuan Pro surpasses combustion rivals of a similar range. Painéis features a good fit, and soft materials dominate frequently touched surfaces. Bancos covered in fabric that imitates leather provides a pleasant texture. Cores harmonics and well-matched parts create a modern atmosphere in the interior.
The list of standard equipment is impressive. Câmera 360º offers impeccable resolution for maneuvers. Tela 12.6-inch center and 8.8-inch instrument panel provide good usability. Bancos with electrical adjustments, induction charger, electronic parking brake and spare tire (rare accessory in recent launches) complete the package.
Suspensão with McPherson strut at the front and torsion beam at the rear filters out irregularities in the pavement without transmitting excessive oscillations to the cabin. Desempenho in this regard places the Yuan Pro among the best of the brand and among the best compact Chinese vehicles available.
Dimensões measuring 4.31 meters long, 1.83 m wide and 2.62 m wheelbase generates generous internal space. Três adults sit comfortably in the second row, taking advantage of a flat floor and adequate leg accommodation. Passageiros over 1.80 m travel without restrictions.
Falhas project compromise experience
Seis structural deficiencies harm the user experience and justify caution before purchasing:
- Ausência air conditioning outlet for second row (serious penalty in premium segment, where the feature is practically mandatory)
- Navigation Mapas (Waze and Google Maps) frequently crashes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leaving the screen out of date by up to 1 km
- Falta from Adas package and active safety systems (no automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control or lane keep assist)
- Porta – luggage restricted to 265 liters, smaller than Renault Kwid (290 liters) and drastically smaller than Fiat Fastback (516 liters)
- Autonomia of just 250 km according to Inmetro, below the Dolphin Mini (280 km) and much lower than the Geely EX5 (413 km)
Bateria limits distance between recharges
Equipado with 45.1 kWh Blade battery, the Yuan Pro offers insufficient range for frequent trips or long commutes. Carga maximum 6.6 kW alternating current (AC) and 60 kW direct current (DC) results in relatively long recharge time for modest travel. Essa limitation puts the SUV at a disadvantage compared to direct competitors that guarantee superior autonomy with similar technology.
Hybrid Versão arrives in 2026 with improvements
BYD has already confirmed the launch of a plug-in hybrid version of the Yuan Pro for 2026. Exclusive Testes in China indicate that the new variant will correct at least one structural flaw: air conditioning outlet in the second row will be standard. Expansão autonomy and adjustments to connectivity systems are also expected.
Potência with 177 hp and 29.5 kgfm torque position the Yuan Pro as the second most powerful option among compact SUVs on the Brazilian market. Apenas Fiat Fastback and Pulse Abarth outperform, both with 185 hp. Essa configuration explains fast acceleration and responsiveness on resumes.
