Samsung has brought back a feature widely requested by DeX users in the One UI 8.5 update. The function allows you to automatically hide the taskbar, offering cleaner navigation when using full-screen applications in the smartphone’s desktop mode.

Retorno of the hidden bar in DeX

The new feature comes as a direct response to feedback from users who were experiencing difficulties following the recent DeX redesign. Antes update, hiding the taskbar required accessing specific menus when maximizing windows, making the function less accessible and intuitive. With One UI 8.5, a direct shortcut in settings simplifies the process. Navigation becomes practical and efficient, especially for those who work with multiple windows.

Outras functions recovered

Além from the hidden bar feature, Samsung revived different classic DeX options that disappeared after the revamp. Esses returns indicate an effort by the company to balance structural improvements with old features that users still use regularly.

  • Ajuste virtual keyboard position automatic
  • Controle custom audio output
  • Otimização of shortcuts in quick settings
  • Suporte expanded for split-screen applications

Mudanças on the DeX platform

The platform that transforms cell phones into PCs has undergone a significant redesign. Samsung abandoned the classic version of DeX in favor of an approach more similar to that developed by Google. Essa transition brought visual advances and integration with applications, but left aside some functions that were widely used on a daily basis.

The new design offers a more fluid experience on Samsung devices. Contudo, the absence of traditional features generated criticism from users who depended on these features for productivity. One UI 8.5 marks the beginning of the process of reintegrating these elements.

Resposta to user feedback

The decision to redeem these resources demonstrates that Samsung is attentive to the demands of the community. The return of the hidden bar was the absence most noticed by users since the redesign. Surveys internals and social networks pointed out the need to keep navigation clean while working in full screen, especially for professionals who use DeX as an alternative to a computer.

The Galaxy S26 and other compatible devices will receive these improvements gradually. Samsung continues to refine DeX based on suggestions from the user base. Novos testing and beta versions should consolidate these functionalities before the final release.
