Apple is developing an iPhone that is radically different from current models, completely eliminating traditional physical buttons. The new device will adopt touch-sensitive controls integrated into the sides of the device, replacing the mechanical mechanisms that have accompanied the iPhone since its launch in 2007. The change represents a significant step in the evolution of the smartphone, offering greater durability and use of internal space.

Tela without cutouts and camera under glass

The new iPhone will have a display that occupies practically the entire front of the device, eliminating the upper notch known as the notch. The front camera and facial recognition sensors will be integrated into the screen itself using under-glass camera technology. Este cutout-free design offers greater visual immersion, allowing apps and videos to take up more usable space. The Apple thus manages to increase the effective size of the screen without expanding the physical dimensions of the device compared to previous generations.Apple

Controles by capacitive sensors on the sides

The side volume buttons and on/off button will disappear completely. Sensores capacitive panels on the sides will detect user touch and pressure, with haptic vibration providing feedback to confirm actions. The technology allows specific gestures to trigger different functions:

  • Double Toque on left edge activates Siri wizard
  • Pressão prolonged on the sides opens the control menu
  • Deslizar the finger on the edge controls the volume
  • Toque on bottom edge silently mutes sound
  • Special Gesto in the corner activates camera or flashlight quickly

Users will be able to adjust volume, turn the device on and off, and access other functions without pressing any physical buttons. The absence of these components reduces points of mechanical failure and allows more space to be used for the battery and other internal components.

Vantagens in durability and resistance

Remover physical buttons eliminates one of the main points of failure in smartphones. Botões run aground frequently, requiring repair or replacement, which significantly reduces maintenance expenses and increases the life of the device. Fully sealed design provides better protection against water and dust. Sem button holes, the Apple is able to use even higher resistance ratings, allowing immersion at greater depths for longer periods.

The battery also benefits from this architecture. Sem button cavities, more internal space is available for larger battery cell or other components. Engenheiros gains flexibility in the iPhone’s internal layout, allowing for better heat dissipation and more consistent performance during extended use.

Lançamento scheduled for 2025

Informações indicate that this revolutionary iPhone will hit the market in 2025. Apple may announce the device during its September event, maintaining the tradition of introducing new iPhones in the North American fall. Analistas point out that the company has invested significantly in research and development of this technology. Early batches may have limited availability while mass production takes hold. Estimativas suggest that only Pro models will receive this design in the first generation, with standard versions retaining traditional buttons for another release cycle or two.

Elevated Preço and accessibility concerns

Espera iPhone without buttons is expected to be significantly more expensive than current models. The high-precision touch technology and advanced manufacturing required increase production costs. Analistas estimate that the base price could exceed US$1,200, competing with premium products on the market. The Apple is expected to offer different storage capacities and varied color options, with the Pro Max variant receiving more powerful components.

Preocupações with accessibility emerged in the disabled user community. Physical Botões offer direct tactile feedback, essential for those who depend on this sense. Apple will have to ensure that the new controls work equally well for all users by implementing robust alternatives. Consumidores used to buttons will need to learn new gestures, similar to what happened when Apple removed the headphone jack from iPhones in 2016.
