Blizzard Entertainment released a technical update on Saturday, April 25, 2026, focused on recovering the performance of three characters who suffered a sharp drop in their win rates since the start of Temporada 2 of Overwatch. Roadhog, Sombra, and Vendetta have received structural adjustments to rebalance their combat mechanics. The developers reaffirmed their commitment to keeping the game practical and fun, without compromising the overall fluidity of competitive matches.
Roadhog has a more agile hook again
The Roadhog tank has received a significant reduction in the reload time of its main control tool. Gancho of Corrente now reloads in 7 seconds, up from 8 seconds previously. The change represents a fine-tuning for a character that has faced extreme swings in effectiveness in recent months of competition.
At the end of Temporada 1, Roadhog had recovered positions on the viability table after improvements in the consistency of its combos. Contudo, the 2 second hook cooldown increase implemented in the transition to Temporada 2 severely hampered hero performance. The new configuration seeks to return a competitive tactical advantage without making the character dominant in the current meta.
Sombra maintains mobility even when detected
Heroine Sombra has received a buff to the speed penalty when hit while in stealth mode. The speed bonus reduction is now 33%, compared to the 50% applied in the previous setting. In practice, this allows the character to maintain 67% of her extra agility even after being detected by the opponent, offering more tactical flexibility in combat situations.
The change reflects the developer’s intention to make Sombra more viable in high-level matches, where early detection used to completely compromise his ability to escape and position. The adjustment preserves the character’s risk versus reward mechanics without overly penalizing them.
Vendetta gains resistance with increased health
The character Vendetta had a direct increase in her base hit points, increasing her health from 175 to 200, totaling 275 hit points. The change represents a direct response to the heroine’s win rate dropping to 45% at Platina levels and above. The additional 25 points were inserted as common life, without damage reduction, unlike previous configurations.
- Roadhog: Gancho of Corrente reduced from 8 seconds to 7 seconds
- Sombra: Penalidade speed when hit reduced to 33%
- Vendetta: Total Vida increased from 250 to 275 points
- Foco: Recuperação of characters with low win rate
- Objetivo: Melhorar mobility and fun in the competitive meta
Contexto competitive and upcoming actions
Apesar’s health boost, Vendetta continues to face a challenging environment in the current competitive landscape. The strong presence of heroes like Pharah in matches remains a natural obstacle to the character’s viability. Blizzard has confirmed that it will continue to analyze match data across all global regions for future balance interventions.
The update also implemented a number of bug fixes reported by the community since the last major patch. The data package is now available for download on all platforms where Overwatch 2 is operated. Close monitoring of combat metrics will continue until midway through the current season, with the possibility of further adjustments as needed.
