The Toyota Yaris Cross received a significant visual and mechanical renovation for the European market in 2026. The version manufactured in the França gained a new front grille with a honeycomb pattern, inspired by the design of the RAV4, in addition to high power in the hybrid system. The launch is scheduled for the end of this year, consolidating the compact SUV as the brand’s sales leader in the region.
Grade front and new colors mark visual redesign
The grille now features a body color finish with a honeycomb shape, following the visual language of recent Toyota models. The LED headlights received a revised design with an updated light signature, maintaining the front bumper with robust elements characteristic of an SUV. Rodas 17 and 18 inch alloys appear with new exclusive designs for this generation.
Duas exterior colors debut in the catalogue: Bronze Precioso, available in a two-tone configuration with a black roof, and Sal Persa, which replaces the previous Prata Brilhante. Essas changes reinforce the utility vehicle’s more modern and integrated look, aligning it with the brand’s current visual identity on the European continent.
Versão GR Sport gets exclusive bumper and tuned suspension
Pela for the first time, the Yaris Cross GR Sport features a dedicated front bumper that highlights the width and athletic character of the model. The design includes side elements aligned with GR versions of other models such as Corolla Cross and RAV4, reinforcing the line’s sporting identity.

The seats gained better lateral support in several versions, while the finishing on the doors and instrument panel now uses a platinum tone. Algumas configurations adopt SakuraTouch material, made with plant-derived PVC, waste cork and recycled polyurethane, reducing CO2 emissions by 95% compared to traditional leather.
The infotainment system and digital cluster continue with 10.5 and 12.3 inch screens in the most equipped European versions. Toyota states that this innovative material represents a commitment to sustainability without compromising the quality or durability of the internal finishes.
Sistema hybrid gains power in European version
The Yaris Cross manufactured in França received a more powerful electric motor-generator and revised control unit. Combined power has risen from 85 kW to 96 kW in the 1.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid system, offering improved performance without sacrificing energy efficiency. Japanese Versões maintain the previous configuration with 85 kW, while imported examples for the Austrália continue with the older system.
The European model had already undergone improvements in 2024, with a focus on reducing noise, vibration and harshness, in addition to a larger central screen. Toyota Austrália was consulted about possible future changes, but there is no official position confirmed so far regarding the adoption of the new features.
Liderança sales at Europa drives investment
The hybrid utility vehicle is Toyota’s best-selling model in the European region, surpassing even the Yaris hatchback in volume. Carros smaller and compact SUVs dominate the European market, and the Yaris Cross stands out for its fuel efficiency and practicality for urban environments. Na Austrália, the model occupies a prominent position among urban SUVs, competing with Mazda CX-3, Kia Stonic and Hyundai Venue.
The SUV offers front- or all-wheel drive in some versions, with low fuel consumption typical of Toyota hybrids. Diferenças production units explain the possible delay in the arrival of the new products to the Australian market, as European versions leave the factory at França while Australian models come from Japão on a separate production line. The European facelift reinforces the positioning of the Yaris Cross as an efficient and modern option in the compact hybrid SUV segment.
