Skoda Epiq debuts with single compartment that VW and Cupra don’t offer

The new Skoda Epiq hits the market in September with a difference compared to its Grupo Volkswagen VW ID brothers. Polo and Cupra Raval do not have: a 25-liter front compartment under the hood, ideal for storing charging cables and small items. The entry-level version costs €25,900, while the “Selection” starts at €35,600. The model represents VW’s third electric compact car launch in recent months, all leaving the same factory in Pamplona, in Espanha.

Apesar shares the same technical platform and assembly lines, the three vehicles feature distinct designs and do not look like clones with different logos. The Epiq, at 4.17 meters long, is 12 centimeters longer than its competitors in the same group.

Robust Design with T-shaped light signature

The “Tech Deck” front end in glossy black makes a statement with a T-shaped light signature. Entradas lower vertical air vents resemble the classic Jeep grille, creating its own visual identity. Short Balanços, smooth surfaces on the sides and the brand’s typical rear complete the integrated look of the Skoda range. The T-shaped light signature also appears on the rear lights.

Minimalist Interior prioritizes functionality and sustainability. A 13-inch screen occupies the center of the panel with the Google’s Android operating system, redesigned for better usability. Smaller Tela behind the steering wheel and button panel below the central air vents allow control of essential functions. Smartphones integrate perfectly into the system and will function as a vehicle key.

Materiais recycled and well thought out features

Couro is not part of the line. The Skoda offers synthetic leather upholstery made from recycled material, as well as seat covers in recycled polyester. Optional Teto panoramic glass expands the interior feeling of space. Recursos typical of the brand include an umbrella compartment on the door, a parking ticket holder on the windshield and other functional details.

Porta-trunk offers 475 liters of main capacity, with additional space under the floor. The exclusive 25-liter front compartment complements the storage proposal — a feature that ID. Polo and Cupra Raval do not offer. Com Plug&Charge, charging processes start and pay automatically without the need for a specific card.

The maximum speed reaches 160 km/h. The 226 hp sports version offered by Cupra and VW is not part of the Skoda line at the moment. Duas battery options complement the offer: smaller battery with 38.5 kWh (LFP technology) delivers a range of up to 310 kilometers; larger battery with 55 kWh (NMC technology) provides up to 440 kilometers of range.

Consumo varies from 13.7 to 14.1 kWh depending on configuration. Fast Carregamento reaches 10% to 80% in 24 minutes with maximum power of 11 kW in alternating current. Primeira instead of an Skoda: the Epiq features single-pedal driving, allowing deceleration to a complete stop just by releasing the accelerator.

Bidirectional power Recursos expand functionality: V2L, V2H and V2G allow you to connect external devices and storage systems. Optional heat Bomba improves efficiency in cold climates. Optional trailer Engate enables pull of up to 1,200 pounds, depending on engine.

Sistemas support and launch pricing

Aviso forward collision warning, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition come standard. Travel Assist with adaptive cruise control and steering assistance reacts to red traffic lights and automatically brakes the vehicle. Parking Assistente will arrive later, allowing autonomous maneuvers in garages with pre-programmed trajectories.

The entry-level “Essence” 55 edition with 211 hp starts at €32,100. Versão “Selection” with higher specifications starts at €35,600. Limited Edição “First Edition” offers enhanced features and exclusive design elements for the same price of €35,600. Todas variants will be available from September 2026.
