Circunstâncias from the fall and rescue

The fall occurred when Vera and his companions were descending after reaching the summit. The exact reasons for the accident are still under investigation, but evidence indicates loss of balance on the slope. Intense Ventos and low visibility prevented the helicopter of Grupo of Operações Especiais of Polícia from approaching the scene for air rescue. Equipes from Busca’s NGO and Resgate from Villarrica managed to locate the lifeless body in the mountainous area. The extreme cold prolonged search operations.

GOPE’s Bombeiros and Carabineiros arrived at the scene on Monday morning to remove the body. The transfer was made to the Serviço Médico Legal, installed in the Centro of Esqui. Ian Gorayeb, regional director of Senapred, confirmed the operation at around 10 am.
