ANBERNIC releases Play Store on RG Vita Pro and expands functions beyond retro gaming

ANBERNIC has made official support for Google Play Store available on the RG Vita Pro portable console through an update to the Android system. The feature significantly expands the device’s usage possibilities, which until then only allowed manual installation of applications via external APK.

The announcement was made by the manufacturer in a video published on YouTube. The update marks the official opening of the Google app ecosystem for the handheld visually inspired by the classic PlayStation Vita. ANBERNIC’s portable console works with two operating systems simultaneously: Linux and Android. The lack of access to Play Store since launch has not had a major impact because the PlayStation Vita emulation ecosystem on Android remains limited.
