The federal government launched the Move Brasil program in May 2026, an initiative aimed exclusively at taxi drivers, cooperatives and app drivers that offers financing of R$30 billion via BNDES. The measure provides credit to purchase sustainable zero-kilometer vehicles with a maximum price of R$150,000 and reduces interest rates by half compared to the traditional market average.
The mobilization of car manufacturers was immediate. Fiat responded to the opportunity aggressively, placing five of its best-selling models on the list of eligible vehicles. Simultaneamente, BYD guaranteed the inclusion of two fully electric cars with great commercial acceptance.
Fiat marks the offensive with five vehicle options
Fiat has made a comprehensive range of models available for the Move Brasil program. Registered drivers will be able to choose between:

- Cronos (sedan with generous trunk volume)
- Pulse (turboflex compact SUV)
- Fastback (turboflex compact SUV)

BYD bets on successful electric vehicles
The Chinese giant guaranteed its presence with two purely electric options that were immensely commercially successful. The BYD Dolphin Mini and the traditional BYD Dolphin are part of the official list of automobiles authorized for federal financing.
Ambos stands out for its excellent internal space for the category and the lower charging cost per kilometer driven compared to conventional vehicles. The choice reflects the automaker’s strategy to consolidate its position in the urban work fleet.
Requisitos financial and access deadlines
The program guidelines establish annual interest rates set at 12.6% for men (0.99% per month) and 11.5% for women (0.91% monthly). Payment terms extend for up to 72 months, with an initial grace period of six months before the first installment is due.
Motoristas applications must prove that they have been active on the platform for at least 12 months and have completed at least 100 trips. Taxistas must present a municipal license and be up to date with tax compliance.
Validation and contracting Cronograma
The prior validation process has already been released on the gov.br/movebrasil portal, with an estimated turnaround time of up to five business days. Após electronic approval of eligibility, registered drivers will be able to search for accredited financial institutions and dealership networks from June 19, 2026.
Nesta stage, the final credit analysis and signing of acquisition contracts take place. The selected models must be flex, powered by 100% ethanol, hybrid or fully electric, as required by the federal plan to encourage the transition to clean fuels.
