Geely has confirmed the launch of the facelifted EX2 for May 28th at China, where it will be sold under the Galaxy brand. The compact electric hatch, which was China’s best-selling car in 2025 with 465,775 units delivered, now has an LFP battery that offers a range of up to 460 kilometers in the CLTC cycle.

The update includes discreet visual changes focused on brand identity, with new Galaxy logos and additional aerodynamic hubcap designs. The big highlight is the battery pack, which now offers 2 capacity options.

Bateria and autonomy of the new EX2

The restyled EX2 receives LFP batteries with 2 configurations: the 35 kWh version guarantees 360 kilometers of range, while the 47 kWh reaches 460 kilometers in the CLTC cycle. Geely did not disclose the supplier of the new batteries, although the current model uses LFP sets from CATL.

Fast recharging is standard across the range, with the promise of going from 30% to 80% in 21 minutes. Liquid battery cooling, offered as standard on all models, differentiates the EX2 from direct rivals such as the BYD Seagull and Wuling Binguo, which tend to reserve this solution for more expensive versions.

Motorização and Traction

The mechanical system follows a known standard. Motor rear 79 horsepower equips versions with a smaller battery, while the 47 kWh configuration receives a 116 horsepower engine. Rear-wheel drive remains the only alternative, keeping the proposal simple and focused on efficiency for urban use.

The suspension uses McPherson struts at the front and an independent multi-link rear, a configuration that offers more comfort compared to competitors that use a rear torsion beam.

Dimensões and design

The hatch maintains the following dimensions:

  • Comprimento: 4,135mm
  • Largura: 1805mm
  • Altura: 1,570mm
  • Entre-axles: 2650mm

The visual refresh is discreet, with a focus on consolidating the Galaxy identity. The change of “family” was already being indicated by photos of prototypes captured at the end of 2025.

Histórico and market

The EX2 debuted in 2024 as a compact electric vehicle under the Geome sub-brand, and now officially circulates under the Galaxy umbrella. The rebrand reflects Geely’s strategy of reorganizing its product lines.

Desde its launch, the model gained a prominent position in the Chinese market. In 2025, it became the best-selling car in the country, consolidating the proposal for an affordable EV with good performance.

Preço and availability

Geely has not yet released the price of the facelift. The current EX2 is sold between 68,800 and 87,800 yuan, which corresponds to approximately R$49,500 to R$63,200 in the Chinese market.
