Sony announces June PlayStation Plus games with Warhammer 40K and raises prices
Sony has released the titles that are part of the Plus PlayStation monthly game catalog for June 2026. The announcement marks the first content reveal since the subscription platform’s price increase. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide leads the offering, joined by Grounded Fully Yoked Edition and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, available to all PlayStation Plus members from June 2nd to July 6th.
Darktide, developed by Fatshark, is a first-person action game focused on cooperative mode. The title takes place in the science fiction universe of Games Workshop, known for its dark and dystopian setting. Desde its initial release on PC in 2022, the game has received significant updates and is currently in excellent condition. The Plus arrival on PlayStation occurs in the same month that the game will receive the Skitarii class on June 23, expanding gameplay options for new players.
Diferenças on the mechanics of Darktide
The game does not allow players to control an Space Marine, the famous genetically enhanced troops of Warhammer 40,000. Instead, the available characters come from other factions in the franchise’s universe. The Skitarii class, for example, belongs to Adeptus Mechanicus, a faction of technological priests. Players can also choose an Ogryn, a gigantic abhuman creature from Astra Militarum. Essa’s variety of classes offers different play styles and mechanics within the cooperative title.
Contexto from the price increase
Este content announcement represents the first made by Sony since the Plus PlayStation subscription price increase in May 2026. The company raised prices for all three tiers of the service, causing a negative reaction among customers.
The new prices for first-time customers are:
- PlayStation Plus Premium: $19.99 (increased from $17.99)
- PlayStation Plus Extra: $16.99 (increased from $14.99)
- PlayStation Plus Essential: $10.99 (increased from $9.99)
Para 3-month plans, the Premium went from $49.99 to $54.99, the Extra from $39.99 to $43.99 and the Essential from $24.99 to $27.99. The 12-month subscription option remains unchanged. Conforme previously informed, increases do not apply to current subscribers, except in cases where the subscription expires or is changed (with the exception of Turquia and Índia).
Catálogo expanded with Destiny 2
Sony also confirmed that Destiny 2: Legacy Collection, including the 2025 The Final Shape expansion, will be available to Extra and Premium members starting June 9th. The rest of the catalog for the month will be revealed later. Esta’s availability comes after Bungie’s shocking announcement that the final update of Destiny 2 will be released on June 9, officially ending the Destiny era that began in 2014.
The closure of Destiny 2 is related to difficulties faced by Bungie. The company recently laid off employees and saw its new release, Marathon, fail to gain traction in the extraction shooter market. Essa situation raises questions about the studio’s future direction.
Jogos leaving the catalog
PlayStation Plus members have until June 2nd to add Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Nine Sols to their game library, as these titles will be leaving the subscription catalog soon. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is an action game with souls-like elements, while Nine Sols is a narrative action platformer based on Asian science fiction.
Sony’s approach in this announcement appears to balance the need to justify price increases through relevant content while facing the impact of partner studios’ business decisions. The month of June marks an inflection point for PlayStation Plus, consolidating tariff changes and reorganizing content strategy around established franchises.
