Colombia national team announces 26 squad for World Cup and leaves out stars valued at 140 million
Néstor Lorenzo confirmed the official list of 26 players called up by Colômbia for Copa from Mundo. The Argentine coach ruled out prominent names in European and South American football, leaving out athletes with a combined market value of more than 140 million euros, according to Transfermarkt.
The most notable absences involve strong strikers. Jhon Durán, former Aston Villa player, tops the list with a valuation of 25 million euros. Rafael Santos Borré, from Internacional from Porto Alegre, totals 9 million. Sebastián Villa, from Independiente Rivadavia, is not part of the call despite its price of 6 million euros.
Defesa and goalkeeping leave players aside

Meio-campo loses two technical gems
Nelson Deossa, from Real Betis, does not move on to Copa from Mundo despite its €9 million valuation. Wilmar Barrios, from Zenit with a price of 7 million, was also left out of the intermediate sector. Yaser Asprilla, from Galatasaray valued at 14 million euros, completes the list of discards in midfield.
