Disney replaces Aerosmith with Muppets on Orlando’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, one of the most radical roller coasters of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, in Orlando, reopened completely redesigned this Tuesday (26). Após more than two decades supported by the band Aerosmith, the attraction now stars Muppets and the fictional group Electric Mayhem. The attraction maintains the classic adrenaline rush, launching from zero to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds and 3 inversions.

Temática and narrative of the new version

The new attraction, called “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets”, presents a different story. The band Electric Mayhem will perform a megashow at Hollywood, but disappears minutes before the performance. Visitors board a turbocharged limousine and cross the city at high speed to arrive in time for the concert.

Toda the outdoor area has been revamped with a new look. The guitar-shaped sign has a psychedelic design inspired by the classic paintings of Muppets’s cars. The keyboard has a golden key in honor of the Dr. Teeth, leader of Electric Mayhem.

Ambientes internals and behind the scenes

The G-Force Records building, located at the end of the Sunset Boulevard area, now serves as a behind-the-scenes dive into Muppets. The internal environments are full of references, visual jokes and objects linked to the characters’ universe.

In line, visitors enter a recording studio, where they find the band rehearsing the song “Can You Picture That?”, originally released in 1979. The experience brings the audience closer to the narrative before embarking on the tour.

Primeira Audio-Animatronics from Scooter

One of the main highlights of the new version is the debut of the first Audio-Animatronics figure of the character Scooter. The three-dimensional doll reproduces the character’s gestures, expressions and movements, using technology patented by Disney.

The figure has a strategic presence within the attraction, interacting with visitors along the way and reinforcing the Muppets theme throughout the experience.

The attraction’s soundtrack has been completely redesigned. Cada route can be accompanied by different songs, some featuring well-known artists, such as Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson. The musical diversification offers multiple experiences for visitors who wish to experience the attraction more than once.

Histórico from the original attraction

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster was originally opened in 1999. Totalmente indoor, the attraction was manufactured by Vekoma, the same company responsible for the tallest and fastest roller coaster in América Latina, scheduled to open at Cacau Park, in Itu (SP), in 2027.

The partnership with Aerosmith lasted more than two decades. The closure of this version marks the end of an era in the park’s history and paves the way for a new creative direction with Muppets.
