Netherlands announces 26 squad for 2026 World Cup with Virgil van Dijk captain

Ronald Koeman announced this Wednesday the list of 26 players who will represent Holanda in Copa of Mundo 2026. Virgil van Dijk leads the squad as captain, accompanied by names like Frenkie of Jong, Nathan Aké and Cody Gakpo. The team will face Japão, Suécia and Tunísia in Grupo F.

Composição’s Cast and Returns

The call features some unexpected presences. Marten of Roon returns to the national team after more than two years away, while Crysencio Summerville makes his absolute debut in the main team. Mats Wieffer also received an opportunity, despite not being included in the previous Campeonato Europeu and having only played one match in the Eliminatórias.

Memphis Depay and Justin Kluivert were included in the list even after recently recovering from injuries and will arrive without game rhythm. Guus Til, from PSV, completed the call-up after a good season in the Dutch championship.
