Asus presented the ROG Xbox Ally X20, a commemorative version of ROG’s 20 years in the gaming laptop market. The device arrives with a 7.4-inch OLED screen and maintains the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor from the previous version. The main changes focus on image quality and control ergonomics.

The announcement took place this Tuesday during Computex 2026. Asus positions the model as a special edition, initially offered in a bundle with the ROG XReal R1 glasses. The laptop maintains the core specifications of the ROG Xbox Ally X, but gains refinements that improve the gaming experience.

Tela OLED makes its debut in the line’s lineup

The highlight of the ROG Xbox Ally X20 is the new Nebula HDR display. The 7.4-inch screen uses an OLED panel and offers Full HD resolution. The refresh rate reaches 120 Hz, with support for FreeSync Premium Pro and VRR that operates from 30 Hz.

Brightness peaks at 1,400 nits in HDR. Isso represents a significant gain over the standard model’s 7-inch IPS panel. Reducing the top edge allowed the size to be increased without compromising portability.

Jogadores should notice greater black depth and more vibrant colors. The anti-reflective coating helps with use in bright environments. Asus highlighted that the panel received optimizations for heat dissipation, protecting the OLED during prolonged sessions.

Melhorias in controls and transparent design

Asus applied specific updates to the controls. The joysticks now use TMR technology, which promises greater durability and reduced drift. The directional pad has a new mechanism that switches between 4- and 8-way configurations.

The Modo Xbox switch is illuminated green to indicate activation. The semi-transparent finish reveals part of the internal circuitry and improves airflow to the cooling system. The weight increased by 41 grams because of the larger screen size.

  • Joysticks TMR with enhanced feedback
  • Pad directional with adaptive mechanism
  • Iluminação green on Xbox mode button
  • Acabamento semi-transparent black and gold
  • Melhor cooling ventilation

Essas changes seek to resolve points raised by previous generation users. The design maintains the line’s characteristic asymmetrical layout.

Bundle includes ROG XReal R1 glasses for augmented reality

The ROG Xbox Ally Ele works in anchor mode, which fixes the image in space for greater stability.

The dock allows connection to a PC or direct use with a laptop. Nos Estados Unidos, the bundle has a suggested price of US$849. Asus has not yet released prices for the Brasil. The standard ROG Xbox Ally X starts at R$9,239 on the local market.

The proposal is to deliver an immersive experience anywhere. The glasses follow a similar concept to products like Ray-Ban Meta, but aimed at games.

Especificações maintains performance of previous version

The internal hardware remains the same as the ROG Xbox Ally X. The AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor is accompanied by 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. The system runs Windows 11 and supports the full library of PC games and Xbox Game Pass.

Asus has not announced any changes to the battery or raw power. The focus was on screen and control improvements. Especialistas expect the model to hit the market at the end of 2026 as a commemorative limited edition.

Concorrência grows in the notebook segment

The launch takes place at a time of expansion in the handheld market. Concorrentes like Steam Deck OLED and Lenovo Legion Go 2 also invest in higher quality screens. Asus bets on integration with the Xbox ecosystem and augmented reality resources to differentiate itself.

The ROG Xbox Ally X20 arrives as a premium option. Ainda there is no exact availability date on the Brasil nor official price. The commemorative edition should appeal to collectors and gamers looking for the best possible display in a portable format.
