The BYD Dolphin G had its interior exposed in prototype images at China. The plug-in hybrid hatchback was developed specifically for the European market. The revelation comes days before the official price presentation, scheduled for June.

The model will be one of the first cars assembled at the BYD factory in Szeged, in Hungria. Deliveries are scheduled for autumn 2026. The interior design follows a minimalist line, with a reduction in physical controls.

Cabin Detalhes prioritize simplicity

The prototype displayed by the website Autohome shows a floating touchscreen in the center of the panel. Logo next to it is the LCD instrument cluster. The three-spoke steering wheel has the gear lever positioned right behind.

The central console has a small block of physical buttons. Entre are the driving mode selector, audio volume control and hazard warning lights. The layout leaves the space cleaner.

The rest of the cabin appears covered in fabric in the leaked photo. The set suggests dark material and a simple finish, in line with the positioning of an affordable urban car.

Dimensões and differences from the electric Dolphin

The BYD Dolphin G measures 4,160 mm long and 1,825 mm wide. Ele is 130mm shorter and 55mm wider than the European version of the Dolphin BEV. The configuration caters to the B segment of compact hatchbacks.

Slim Faróis, active air intake and two outlets in the front bumper define the external look. Semi-hidden Maçanetas and blacked-out D-columns complete the package. The model gained in visual presence with these changes.

The exterior design reinforces the identity of a car developed for export. Ele differs from the models sold in China. BYD plans to use the Dolphin G as a stronger entry on the European continent.

Motorização plug-in hybrid no final details yet

BYD has not released all the specifications of the powertrain. Fontes indicate the use of a 1.5 liter aspirated engine combined with an electric one. Combined power should reach 156 kW, or 209 hp.

Duas Blade LFP battery options are priced: 7.8 kWh and 18 kWh. The combined range exceeds 1,000 km with a full tank and full charge. The DM-i system allows you to run in electric mode most of the time in urban use.

The plug-in hybrid fills a still little explored space in the European B segment. Ele competes with hatchbacks that only offer conventional hybrids or 100% electric. The affordable price must be one of the main attractions.

BYD’s European Estratégia gains momentum

The Chinese brand accelerates the offensive on the Velho Continente. The Dolphin G represents the first model created from scratch for export markets. Local production at Hungria reduces costs and avoids import tariffs.

BYD’s foreign sales have grown significantly in recent months. The total volume of vehicles sent out of China exceeded 135 thousand units in recent data, an increase of 70.8% compared to the previous year. Growth reinforces the importance of the European continent.

The official launch of the Dolphin G should take place in June. Detalhes prices, versions and complete equipment are available at this time. Arrival at European dealerships is scheduled for autumn.
