Portugal and Nigeria drew 1-1 in the first half of the international friendly played this Wednesday (10), in Leiria. The duel serves as preparation for the two teams for the 2026 World Cup.
In the 23rd minute, Portugal opened the scoring. Diogo Dalot found Pedro Neto free inside the area, and the striker didn’t waste the chance, finishing into the Nigerian goalkeeper’s right corner. The Seleção das Quinas dominated the actions and created the main opportunities.
Nigeria responded with danger. Akor Adams showed physical strength in the area and, in the 38th minute, took advantage of Fisayo Dele-Bashiru’s precise pass to hit low and level the score at 1-1. The goal restored balance to the match.
