Information released by Chinese leaker Fixed Focus Digital indicates that rumors about a possible delay in the debut of the foldable smartphone are unfounded.

In a publication on the Weibo platform, the leak expert classified as “false” and “baseless” the speculation that the launch of the device would be postponed to 2027. Believing in a more optimistic scenario, he predicts that the device will hit the market together with the iPhone 18 series, in September this year.

If any setback occurs, it is estimated that the delay will not exceed one month before the start of sales, aiming to maintain the technology giant’s annual schedule. This strategy would guarantee sufficient stock to meet the likely high demand, one of Apple’s main points of attention regarding the announcement of the new device.

Previous news has pointed out that the development of the foldable iPhone faces serious engineering challenges, particularly with regards to the durability of the hinge mechanism in advanced stages of production. While Apple has apparently addressed the screen crease issues, the hinge’s long-term reliability has yet to meet the company’s strict quality standards, a challenge common to many competitors in the foldable smartphone market that Apple appears determined to overcome with robustness.
