Alpine has revealed the A390 GTS, an unprecedented high-performance configuration for its electric fastback. The vehicle promises to maintain the French automaker’s sporting essence in the era of electrification, through a fusion of power, advanced technology and refined drivability. With 470 horsepower, distributed across three electric motors, the model was designed to replicate the sensation of piloting the iconic A110, a landmark of the brand.
The A390 GTS is equipped with a propeller on the front axle and two others on the rear, generating a torque of 824 Nm. This configuration guarantees all-wheel drive, optimizing control. A notable difference is the Alpine Active Torque Vectoring system, which manages the distribution of torque between the rear wheels every 20 milliseconds, improving stability, agility and precision in maneuvers and curves.
A390 GTS proposal seeks to balance performance and daily use
The manufacturer highlighted that the development of the project was mainly focused on translating the feeling of driving pleasure of the A110 to a more flexible electric vehicle. The goal is to offer a car with five seats, adapted to the demands of everyday use, without compromising its sporting DNA.
To ensure high performance, the model incorporates a extensively updated platform. The braking system features 365 mm discs and six-piston calipers, complemented by hydraulic shock absorbers. Alpine ensures that this technical architecture provides dynamic behavior that rivals sports cars in higher segments.
The 89 kWh battery has been optimized to maintain constant performance, even in challenging conditions. This includes routes in mountainous regions, where thermal management and power stability are crucial aspects for the vehicle’s performance.

This A390 GTS represents the second all-electric model launched by Alpine, following the A290 and setting the stage for the future electric A110. This expansion in the EV line symbolizes a strategic move by the brand to reconcile its tradition in high-performance vehicles with the growing demand for electric cars. With this offer, the automaker seeks to attract new customers who value sportiness combined with functionality, with internal space and practicality for everyday life.
In France, the A390 GTS will be able to use bidirectional charging technology (V2G), facilitating the integration of the vehicle with the home and the electrical grid. This resource will be made possible by the services offered by Group Renault.
The assembly of the A390 GTS is carried out entirely on French territory. The vehicle is produced at the historic Alpine factory in Dieppe. The engines, in turn, are manufactured in Cléon, and the battery, which uses Verkor cells, is assembled in Douai. The company also highlights the collaboration of local suppliers, such as Michelin, which developed specific tires for the model, and Devialet, responsible for the high-fidelity audio system.
Philippe Krief, CEO of Alpine, sees the A390 GTS as a new interpretation of the A110 concept, but in five-seat sports fastback format. According to Krief, the ambition is to combine performance, technology and sophistication in a car that satisfies both the passion for sports driving and the practical demands of everyday life.
Equipped with three electric motors and 470 horsepower, the A390 GTS prioritizes the driving experience. This launch represents a significant advancement in Alpine’s electrification strategy, reaffirming the brand’s commitment to preserving its sporting heritage during the transition to exclusively electric-powered vehicles.
