Bailey Zimmerman Faces Felony Charge for Destroying Albuquerque Hotel Room
Country singer Bailey Zimmerman is under investigation in New Mexico, facing felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly being responsible for more than $16,000 in damages to a hotel room. The artist’s legal situation came to light through a TMZ investigation.
Legal documents recently released to TMZ reveal that the Sandia Police filed a request for an arrest warrant for the artist on June 18. Authorities aim to charge him with a felony for property damage and a misdemeanor for fraudulently obtaining services.
Details of conduct at the hotel
The legal process originates from an alleged episode that occurred on May 27th. On that date, according to official reports, Bailey Zimmerman allegedly had a tantrum under the influence of alcohol, resulting in the destruction of his room and the cancellation of his performance, culminating in his expulsion from the resort.
The police statement indicates that Zimmerman was scheduled to perform at the amphitheater at the Sandia Resort and Casino, located in Albuquerque. The hotel’s security team, however, reported to the police that the singer appeared visibly drunk throughout the night.
During the sound check, authorities allege the artist exhibited aggressive behavior, staggering and repeatedly falling on stage. Among the actions described, he would have thrown microphones, thrown cymbals and knocked over drum components.
According to the sworn statement, Bailey Zimmerman left the stage in a fit of rage on several occasions, until he abandoned the sound check altogether and returned to his accommodation at the resort.
As he walked towards the vehicle, the singer allegedly spat in the direction of a security guard, expressing dissatisfaction at being driven in a white SUV, and not a black one, before finally boarding.
Health professionals who treated him upon returning to the resort noticed that Bailey Zimmerman was severely disoriented, to the point of losing a shoe, having a bleeding knee and needing support from his team to move around the corridor.
The statement states that the musician decided to cancel the show scheduled for that night, which resulted in him being expelled from the resort. Initially, he refused to use the transport offered by the establishment, leading the hotel to call the police.
Authorities later confirmed that Zimmerman complied with the instructions, boarded the bus and was escorted off the resort’s premises.
However, the next day, the cleaning team discovered the artist’s room in a state of complete devastation, with damage estimated at US$16,000.
Among the damage, the television, telephone set, coffee table and two chairs were listed. The hotel team also pointed out a hole in one of the walls, damage to others, stains on the carpet and the absence of a pair of chairs, detailing the extent of the material damage.
Financial accusations and the search for contact
Additionally, the hotel stated that Bailey Zimmerman accrued a debt of more than $400 from in-room alcohol consumption, an account that was not paid off.
Court documents indicate that contact attempts were made by both the resort management and the police, seeking communication with the singer and his representatives. The lack of return was the determining factor in the subsequent issuance of the arrest warrant.
Bailey Zimmerman’s team was approached to comment on the incident, but to date, there has been no response.
