Campo Grande records death of 66-year-old passenger after unexpected fall while disembarking from bus
A 66-year-old man, identified as Roberto de Jesus Pupo, died last Monday afternoon (22), in Campo Grande, after suffering an accident when disembarking from a public transport bus.
According to police records, the passenger was using the Coophavila II/Centro line and, at around 4:30 pm, he lost his balance as he got out of the vehicle, falling to the ground.
Reports from family members to the police indicate that Roberto hit his head heavily on impact from the fall, resulting in a bleeding wound. The Fire Department was called to provide assistance and took him to Santa Casa in the city.
The victim’s wife was promptly notified at the hospital regarding the incident. However, due to her state of shock and emotional distress, she was unable to provide additional information about the circumstances of what happened.
In a gesture of solidarity amid the pain, the police record details that Roberto’s family authorized the donation of his organs. The sister of the victim’s spouse confirmed to the police that she had received a message from the Santa Casa Diagnostic and Therapeutic Support Center, informing that the organ removal procedure had already been completed.
The incident was officially registered at the Community Emergency Care Police Station (Depac/Cepol) as a death resulting from an atypical event. The competent authorities will be responsible for carrying out a complete investigation of the causes.
