Hannah Brown reveals unprecedented challenges in the first year of marriage, including home renovation and health issues
The former participant of the program “The Bachelorette”, Hannah Brown, went through an intense period of great transformations. In her first year of marriage, she dedicated herself to a vast renovation of her home and is preparing the release of her third book, “Reasons to Be Loved by You”.
The reality TV star and author of acclaimed works, who formalized her union with Adam Woolard in France last year, gave an interview to Parade magazine, where she detailed that her beginning of married life coincided with a major home renovation, leading the couple to a temporarily “nomadic” lifestyle.
“It’s been wonderful. I love being married,” Brown said. “However, I need to point out that we recently underwent a complete renovation at home, and tackling work in the first year of marriage is perhaps not the simplest task for a couple.”
The 30-year-old personality explained that what initially seemed to be a small intervention quickly expanded into a much larger project.
“I imagined we would just do a few touches, but the project took on gigantic proportions,” she revealed. “We’ve been away from home for seven months because of this.”
Brown and Woolard purchased a 120-year-old home in Nashville with the intention of personalizing the historic property. During the process, they were faced with the presence of mold and had to make numerous design decisions, from choosing finishes to the materials to be used.
“It was a lot of fun, but it was also a lot of stress,” admitted Brown. “It represents a considerable investment. It requires a lot of time away from home while the team works, and you have to hope that everything goes according to plan.”
Despite the difficulties faced, Hannah Brown assures that the experience ended up strengthening the connection between her and her husband.
“We asked our friends, ‘Hey, are you going away? Do you need someone to take care of the house? Can we stay there?'” she joked. “But at the end of the day, I’m very happy to be going through all of this with him.”

The couple’s residential situation also had an influence on their plans to start a family. Brown recently revealed that she underwent a surgical procedure to correct a rare condition called a bicorporeal septate uterus. She explained that the condition created a kind of “wall” inside the uterus, increasing the risk of miscarriage.
Although she and Woolard have already begun discussions about family planning, Brown emphasizes that there is no rush to have children at this time.
“People keep asking, ‘Are you trying to get pregnant yet?’” she said, laughing. “I want us to stabilize a little before taking this step.”
Brown expressed gratitude that she discovered the condition before attempting pregnancy and hopes that sharing her journey will encourage other women to become more active in advocating for their own medical rights.
“I was very lucky to find this out before we started the process,” she said. “I hope more women seek appropriate ultrasounds and imaging tests so they don’t have to endure unnecessary suffering.”
Regarding marriage itself, Brown commented that he understands why many describe union as something separate from dating, even in a healthy relationship.
“There is a greater depth to the unity that comes from making this pact,” she elaborated. “Saying your vows to each other and being connected as husband and wife. It provides an extra dose of security.”
With the release of a new book, overseeing a seven-month renovation, and future plans for her family, Hannah Brown has a busy schedule. However, if the last year has taught you anything, it’s that obstacles are easier to overcome when you have the right person by your side.
