Nintendo has announced a price adjustment for the Nintendo Switch Online service in Japan, with the new rates coming into effect from July 1, 2026. The change will be applied precisely at midnight local time.
The Japanese company clarified, through its support page, that the change will impact both the standard Nintendo Switch Online plans and the options that include the Additional Pack. All values published for the Japanese market are expressed in yen and include applicable taxes.

For users who have automatic renewal activated, the next charge will already consider the updated price, if the payment date is scheduled for July 1, 2026, at midnight in Japan, or any time after that date. Nintendo recommends that subscribers check the status and next billing date directly on the Nintendo Account website.
The company’s support platform also advises consumers to confirm the prices of cards or subscription codes sold in physical or digital stores directly with each retailer, as there may be variations or specific policies.
Details about subscription extension and switching plans
In its question and answer section, Nintendo clarifies that it is possible to purchase additional subscription time even with an active plan, as long as the accumulated period does not exceed 1,095 days for the same plan on a single Nintendo Account. The company also informed that the daily values used in discounts for changing plans will be modified. The individual plan without additional package will go from 6 yen to 8 yen, the family plan without additional package from 12 to 15 yen, and the individual plan with additional package from 13 to 16 yen.
Understanding the service cancellation policy
With regard to cancellation, Nintendo reinforces that Nintendo Switch Online does not allow interruptions or pauses in the middle of the validity period. The subscription ends naturally at the end of the contracted term, if automatic renewal has been deactivated. It is important to note that the charge for automatic renewal takes place 48 hours before the expiration date of the current plan.
