Argentina teammates prepare a special celebration for Lionel Messi’s birthday with personalized shirts and cake
Lionel Messi, the greatest scorer in the history of World Cups, turned 39 this Wednesday and was surprised with a special celebration. The Argentine teammates organized a party that even included a personalized shirt for the star, maintaining the spirit of unity in the squad.
At the team’s concentration in Kansas City, in the United States, photos of the celebration reveal the athletes wearing an exclusive shirt. Each piece featured the message “happy birthday, Leo!” in Spanish, as well as an individual image of the player alongside Messi, a gesture that reinforces the cohesion and good atmosphere vital for the team during a World Cup.
The president of the Argentine Federation, Chiqui Tapia, selected an emblematic photograph of the 2022 World Cup title celebration, alongside the captain, to appear on his shirt. Meanwhile, Lautaro Martínez’s t-shirt showed a scene of the two in an electric trio, highlighting remarkable moments.
The traditional celebration with cake and congratulations to Messi marked the festive moment. The date was also a celebration for Diego Iacovone and Antonia Farías, two cooks who are part of the Argentine national team’s support team and also had a birthday.
Currently, the Argentina team is concentrated in Kansas City, United States, in preparation for the 2026 World Cup. The team has already secured its qualification for the knockout stage, after victories of 3-0 over Algeria and 2-0 against Austria, with all five goals of the campaign so far being scored by Messi.
