Aston Villa proposes 9 million euros to Flamengo for Emerson Royal, who evaluates offer
Aston Villa, an English team, formalized a proposal to Flamengo aiming to sign right-back Emerson Royal. The initial offer, which totals 9 million euros – equivalent to around R$53.29 million at the current price – is under careful evaluation by the red and black board.
The Rio club’s football department is expected to issue a response soon about the proposal. Information about the English team’s interest was initially released by ESPN and later confirmed by ge.
The internal evaluation of Emerson Royal at Flamengo is positive; the player is considered a fundamental piece and has shown constant growth in recent months. Despite criticism from the fans in the previous season, his performance under the command of Leonardo Jardim has been pleasing, making the decision on his departure a complex process.
The red and black board is also considering the importance of carrying out another significant sale to balance cash and strengthen the investment power in new acquisitions. However, negotiating the full-back would imply the immediate search for a replacement, which adds a challenge to planning. It is important to consider that Royal was acquired last year for an amount close to R$78.8 million, generating a potential devaluation if the sale is completed at the current proposed value.
During his time at Flamengo, Emerson Royal played 40 matches, with one goal scored and five assists. He arrived at the club last year, from Milan, in a deal that reached R$78.8 million, and his contract with the Gávea team is valid until 2028.
