Neymar, striker for the Brazilian national team, will debut new sports shoes to celebrate his return to the national team. The item was designed especially for the World Cup and is expected to be used by the athlete for the first time, if he takes part in the clash against Scotland this Wednesday.
Developed by Puma in partnership with designer KidSuper, the “Future” boot was created specifically for Neymar’s return to the Canarian team. The design incorporates the phoenix symbol, seeking to convey the concepts of resilience, faith and rebirth, values that align with the player’s overcoming after his serious knee injury. The production involved the brand and the athlete himself from the beginning, with the number 10 requesting that the yellow tone be the main color.
“This is a very significant shoe for me. The phoenix represents my journey,” said the player in a press release.
He added: “Whenever there was disbelief, I came back. The yellow color, the details on the sole, the symbols present: everything reflects something personal. My hope is that, when people see this boot, they understand the feeling that invades me every time I wear it to defend Brazil on the field.”
The model also stands out for going against the trend of the tournament, which has been nicknamed the “Pink Boots Cup”. The item was delivered to the athlete last weekend.
Neymar’s most recent confrontation with the Seleção shirt took place on October 17, 2023, during a World Cup qualifying match against Uruguay. At the time, Brazil lost 2-0 in Montevideo, and the striker suffered a serious injury to his left knee, with rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus, during the initial stage.
