The acclaimed horror thriller “Obsession”, directed by Curry Barker and starring Inde Navarrette and Michael Johnston, is imminently released on digital platforms. This news comes at a time of significant success that the work continues to record in cinemas around the world.
The production “Obsessão”, which was scripted and directed by Barker, entered theaters on May 15th. Focus Features secured the rights to the film during the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, with an investment of US$15 million. The production cost was US$750,000, not including marketing expenses. The film had a remarkable debut performance, grossing $17.1 million from 2,615 theaters in North America, and was surprised to see its box office rise 39% in its second weekend in the US, followed by an additional 14% increase in its third.

Even though “Obsession” is among the five most sought-after films at the American box office, everything points to its brief arrival on the home video market. Information provided by the When to Stream portal suggests that the launch on digital platforms, in the form of premium video on demand (PVOD), is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30th. However, the website, known for its accuracy in PVOD predictions, warned that Focus Features has not yet officially confirmed the date, and therefore the premiere date may be changed.

Once accessible on PVOD, “Obsession” will be available for digital purchase or rental on services including Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube Movies & TV.
