At 14 years old, Davi Lucca expressed great joy when commenting on the return of his father, 34-year-old athlete Neymar Jr, to the world football tournament. The striker, who remained on the bench in the initial matches due to a calf injury, made his long-awaited appearance on the field in Wednesday’s game (24), against the Scotland team.

During a conversation with Itatiaia Esporte, the young man highlighted this important new chapter in the player’s career, guided by resilience, and mentioned his anxiety to witness the long-awaited goal from number 10 in the competition.

“I’m extremely happy. I’m very happy that everything came to fruition, that he didn’t give in to the difficulties. Without a doubt, the journey was quite arduous, but he overcame all these setbacks and is now starring in a moment as beautiful as this”, expressed Davi.

The young man also described the feeling of experiencing, once again, the atmosphere of a World Cup alongside his father. This is Neymar’s fourth participation in the World Cup, with calls up since 2014. Davi, born in 2011 from the athlete’s relationship with Carol Dantas, has accompanied his father on these journeys since he was a child, witnessing the evolution of his international career and the uniqueness of growing up alongside a football icon.

According to Davi, the expectations for the current championship are immense and he has enjoyed it a lot, especially as he was very young in the last edition of the World Cup. “For me, it’s been magnificent. The last World Cup I witnessed, I was approximately 11 years old. Reliving that emotion is extremely gratifying,” he declared.
