Google Pixel users face serious connectivity failures after update to Android 17 on several models
Google Pixel devices have experienced significant communication failures after receiving the latest Android 17 operating system update. Many users report difficulties in maintaining the 5G connection, in addition to the unexpected disappearance of eSIM functionality.
Interestingly, while a previous update aimed to improve network stability, the current version has brought to light a new series of connectivity inconsistencies.
Specialized portals such as Android Authority and Android Central have extensively documented these occurrences. Since the release of the stable version of Android 17, a variety of network-related glitches have been reported by Google Pixel device owners.
The manifestations of the problems are diverse. Users report everything from the impossibility of sustaining a 5G connection, resulting in drops to the LTE standard, to the complete interruption of the mobile internet connection. In more critical situations, the eSIM, which is a virtual chip embedded in devices, simply stops being detected or disappears from the system.
The scope of the problem is notable, affecting a wide range of models in the Pixel line. Among the devices mentioned in the reports are the Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a and Pixel 6a, indicating that the instability is not restricted to a single generation of smartphones.

The irony of the situation is amplified by the fact that the June 2026 update for Pixel devices, released by Google, was developed precisely to correct previous mobile network connectivity failures, communication interruptions and issues with SIM cards.
