Lewis Hamilton highlights Ferrari’s evolution and praises team after qualifying for the Austrian GP
Driver Lewis Hamilton expressed approval of Ferrari’s performance after the qualifying session for the Austrian Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion highlighted the remarkable achievement of the Italian team, which positioned both of its vehicles in the first rows of the starting grid, an important indication of the team’s competitiveness in this championship.
The Brit made a point of praising the team’s effort in Maranello, highlighting the clear progression that Ferrari demonstrated throughout the race weekend.
He expressed his delight, saying: “It’s fantastic to see the two Ferraris occupy second and third place, which reflects the extraordinary work that everyone is doing at the factory. I feel great pride in everyone.”
The driver then commented on his own participation in the final stage of the classification, Q3, admitting that a failure in his first fast lap compromised the progress of his performance.
Detailing what happened, Hamilton explained: “I made a mistake in my first Q3 attempt and, as a result, I was unable to finish that initial lap, which invariably impacts the second.”
Even in the face of this unforeseen event, Hamilton expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the session and the overall performance shown by Ferrari.
Concluding his analysis, the athlete declared: “Still, the fact that I came so close, even without having completed that first lap, satisfies me.”
