Tech giant Apple has reportedly implemented strict actions to curb the spread of visual recordings of the highly anticipated iPhone 18 Pro that have started circulating on the internet. This move comes shortly after a digital security incident that affected Tata Electronics, one of Apple’s partner companies in manufacturing components in India.

Visual details revealed in iPhone 18 Pro videos

In the last 24 hours, video content supposedly showing the iPhone 18 Pro in drop resistance tests began to appear on Twitter, now

Although the device featured the expected configuration of three rear cameras, its lenses seemed to protrude more from the surface compared to those of the iPhone 17 Pro. The iconic Apple logo, engraved on the back of the smartphone, had a mirror finish.

Initially, the videos were released by a profile called @EvLeaks and subsequently reposted by Ice Universe. However, the posts were quickly removed from platform X, which cited a violation of its policies. Since then, the @EvLeaks profile has had its account suspended.

Evan Blass, known for his previous association with the user EvLeaks, has publicly stated that he has no connection with the recent @EvLeaks account nor with the allegedly leaked iPhone material disseminated by it. Blass also commented that “Apple may have accomplished what Samsung never managed”, making a likely reference to the numerous leaks of Samsung devices that he himself managed to publicize without hindrance over the years.

The exact reason for the removal of the posts remains unclear. It was not clarified whether the request came from Apple, Tata, or whether the videos were dismissed as fake at a later time.

Simultaneously, in China, leaker Ice Universe mentioned on the Weibo platform that Apple had already “banned leaked data on Twitter”, demonstrating proactive action.

So far, Apple has not officially commented on the removal of the material. Despite this, the videos appeared to be legitimate, according to similar descriptions previously released by the Reuters news agency.

Apple’s concern with confidential information from Tata Electronics

The alleged exposure of the images came shortly after the release of a report by Reuters, indicating that Apple expressed “concern” about the theft of confidential information from Tata Electronics, which was later revealed on the dark web. The news agency detailed that the compromising files contained documents with the Apple logo, specific component data, information about suppliers, project codenames and photographs of iPhone 18 Pro prototypes during drop tests.

Apple would then be conducting an investigation into what happened and collaborating with Tata to implement more robust security strategies in the long term.

Out of caution, we have chosen not to reproduce the videos or images here, although some still persist online. However, it is likely that your stay on the network will be brief. The agility with which these removals were carried out, if requested by Apple, may signal a more incisive stance by the company compared to the standard, especially in the face of a significant data breach, aiming to prevent its spread.

An alternative theory suggests that the videos could have originated from an account on X that was suspended for misrepresentation, and for that reason, were later dismissed as untrue. Definitive confirmation of the details will come with the official launch of the iPhone 18 Pro, scheduled for September.
