New evidence suggests that the iPhone 18 Pro Max could have the largest battery ever seen in an Apple device. Recent reports on the Chinese platform Weibo suggest that the version with a physical chip will have 5,235 mAh, while the eSIM-only version can reach an impressive 5,425 mAh. If this data is confirmed, the company will establish a new milestone for the autonomy of its smartphones, surpassing the capacity of the iPhone 15 Pro Max by more than 1,000 mAh.

This information corroborates previous leaks regarding the next launches of the iPhone line. In February, analyst Digital Chat Station had already predicted that the iPhone 18 series devices would have batteries above 5,000 mAh, a figure that is now gaining consistency. However, the Brazilian public will probably only have access to the model with a physical chip slot, as Apple officially only offers this version in Brazil, limiting consumers’ options.
However, not all speculation about the capacity of the new iPhone batteries is unanimous. At the beginning of June, famous leaker Ice Universe suggested that Apple’s next flagships would have batteries ranging between 4,056 mAh and 4,288 mAh, values considerably lower than those presented in the latest leaks.

Officially, Apple has not yet commented on the iPhone 18 series, nor has it released specifications for the upcoming devices. The company, by default, does not usually reveal the capacity of its batteries in mAh, preferring to focus on the duration of use of the devices in its presentations. Therefore, all data on autonomy remains in the realm of speculation, awaiting official confirmation.

Despite the lack of official statements, there are robust indications that the new generation of iPhones will be unveiled starting in September, maintaining Apple’s pattern of annual launches. As initially reported by Bloomberg, the introduction of the models could happen in two phases: the first, between September 23 and December 21, with the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and a potential foldable model. A second wave, including the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and a possible updated version of the iPhone Air, would be introduced approximately six months later.
