A man aged around 35 lost his life in a collision in the early hours of this Friday (3) on Avenida Antônio Carlos, in Belo Horizonte. The driver responsible for the accident, which occurred at the intersection with Rua Estoril, in the Pampulha Region, fled the scene without providing assistance to the victim and abandoned the vehicle.
The victim was hit by a red car which, according to the Military Police report, was traveling at high speed. The impact was so severe that the man’s body was thrown approximately 70 meters, resulting in instant death on the spot.
Escape and abandonment of the vehicle after the collision
After the collision, the driver did not stop to help the victim and continued on. The car was found by the Military Police approximately one kilometer away from the point of the accident, abandoned in Bairro Liberdade, with visible damage caused by the collision.
Inside the car, the military found beer bottles, which raises the suspicion that the driver had consumed alcohol. This evidence will be a crucial point in the investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatality.
