Prince Harry maintains plans for family visit to UK despite security challenges
The Duke of Sussex remains committed to finding a safe way to bring his wife and children to the UK later this month, despite concerns about protecting his family, it has emerged. The prince’s security team continues to evaluate all alternatives to make Meghan and her children’s trip viable.
Initially, Prince Harry planned to travel with Meghan, Archie and Lilibet in early July to take part in events marking the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games, scheduled to take place in Birmingham.
It has been four years since the couple’s children last met in person with their grandfather. In this scenario, King Charles III offered to host the family in one of his royal residences, the location of which was not revealed.
However, news that the prince’s request for police protection to be funded from public coffers was recently denied came to light last weekend. The refusal follows a 2020 decision when the prince’s security level was adjusted following his move to the United States and withdrawal from active royal duties, forcing him to bear the costs of private security. This recurring situation highlights the complexities faced by the duke on each visit to his home country.
At the time of the refusal, a source indicated that the duke could choose to leave his family at home, due to security concerns.
The same source added, expressing that the hope is that the children will be able to reunite with their grandfather, but highlighted the impossibility of this if they are incessantly pursued by paparazzi from the moment they disembark.

Speculation is growing about a possible reunion between King Charles III and his grandchildren, especially after it was confirmed that the Sussexes will have royal accommodation during their stay in the United Kingdom.
