Chinese man falls from 12th floor after being thrown by violent tornado in Huanggang
A resident of Huanggang, China, was thrown from his apartment located on the 12th floor this Monday (6), during an intense tornado passing through the city. The shocking incident occurred amidst a severe storm that hit the region.
The 30-year-old citizen survived the impressive fall, but is in serious condition in the intensive care unit. The force of the winds not only carried it away, but also dragged furniture such as sofas and cabinets from the property during the storm.
The devastating storm, which hit Hubei province, in the center of the country, resulted in the deaths of at least 11 individuals and left 331 injured. The violent winds of the catastrophe reached speeds of up to 260 km/h, causing great destruction.

The severe weather phenomenon struck the towns of Huangshi, Huanggang, Ezhou and Xianning, maintaining its intensity for more than four consecutive hours and leaving a trail of damage.

The occurrence of tornadoes is uncommon in Hubei province, where the last similar episode had been documented in May 2021. Experts attribute the severity of the current event to the confluence of Typhoon Maysak with the beginning of the summer rainy period, a climatic combination that amplified the intensity of the storm in a rare way in the region.
