Discoveries on Daniel Vorcaro’s cell phone reveal that the former banker instructed publicist Thiago Miranda to collect confidential data and compile a detailed dossier regarding Milton Maluhy Filho, CEO of Itaú, and his relatives, on Tuesday, July 9, 2026.
The Federal Police indicated that there is evidence of the preparation of the material, given the record of exchange of communications containing documents referring to private information of the Itaú executive, such as a report on a possible tax execution.
These conversations are included in the decision handed down by Minister André Mendonça, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), which granted permission for search and seizure warrants in locations linked to Thiago Miranda, as part of the 10th stage of Operation Compliance Zero, which investigates irregularities at Banco Master.
The Federal Police also reported that, in addition to Maluhy Filho, the publicist carried out a thorough investigation, under Vorcaro’s orders, into the life of journalist Malu Gaspar, from the newspaper O Globo, and orchestrated a strategy of attacks on the Central Bank via digital platforms.
The federal corporation confirmed that Miranda used the same method of action against both journalist Malu Gaspar and Milton Maluhy Filho.
The messages that the Federal Police accessed indicate that Vorcaro requested an exhaustive survey of Maluhy Filho’s life, claiming that the executive was “causing a lot of problems” for the owner of Banco Master.
In one of the intercepted communications, Vorcaro stated: “I need to do a survey on Milton Maluhy.”
Later, in another dialogue, Thiago notified Daniel Vorcaro that he already had all the material about Milton, but expressed his desire to publish the data “through another vehicle”. The message was transcribed in Minister André Mendonça’s decision: “As Carnival passes, we talk. I have everything ready for Milton. But I want to do it the same way. Release via another vehicle.”
The Federal Police highlighted that personal and property details of the Itaú director were gathered. Regarding journalist Malu Gaspar, multiple mentions were discovered in conversations on Vorcaro’s phone.
According to the decision that allowed the search against Miranda, these mentions “point to the existence of special concern regarding the materials produced by the aforementioned professional related to Banco Master” and demonstrate initiatives to obtain personal, professional and financial information from the journalist.
