Sony has shown attention to community feedback by incorporating a new feature into PlayStation 5 on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, that allows users to monitor their gaming statistics on a weekly basis, eliminating the need to wait for the platform’s traditional annual summary.
This new tool began to appear unexpectedly for some users, integrated directly into the Welcome Hub, and compiles crucial data such as game time, trophies won and which title was the most played during the week.
In addition to highlighting the most used game, the newly introduced panel displays the total hours dedicated to games, the exact number of trophies obtained and the rarest trophy unlocked over the period.
According to reports from several players, this update is being implemented progressively through Sony servers, which means that its availability does not depend on a new version of the console’s operating system.
The company’s approach suggests the possibility of testing the feature in specific regions or consoles before a broader launch. In recent months, Sony had already tested other features for the Welcome Hub, such as a panel that displays the number of active players in certain titles, an idea inspired by computer gaming platforms.
The initial acceptance of the new widget has been very positive among users who already had access to the tool, especially due to the convenience of viewing weekly statistics directly in the console.
However, a significant part of the gaming community still expresses concern and focuses their discussions on Sony’s decision to discontinue the sale of games in physical format from 2028 onwards, a topic that continues to generate great debate among the brand’s fans.
