The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) determined, this Thursday, July 16, 2026, the prohibition of the sale of two batches of Mamba Water mineral water, belonging to the Heineken group, and all energy products from the Mister Hemp brand. The decision prevents the distribution and use of the items throughout the national territory.

Heineken, which owns the bottled water brand, announced the voluntary recall of batches number 13 and 14 of Mamba Water still mineral water, in 350 ml packaging. This measure occurred after the manufacturer’s internal tests confirmed the existence of Pseudomonas bacteria in the contents.

These specific batches were produced on April 3 and 4 of the current year, with an expiration date set at one year. As determined by the agency, the products must not be sold, distributed or used by consumers.

A separate resolution from Anvisa also establishes the recall and complete suspension of the sale, manufacture, distribution, advertising and consumption of all energy drinks under the Mister Hemp brand. The justification for this measure is that the items do not meet the safety, composition and quality characteristics required by the final expiration date.

Additionally, it was found that the manufacturer did not provide proof of regularization of its products with the National Health Surveillance System (SNVS). The lack of adequate documentation prevents the commercialization of these products.

Consumers who have already purchased the affected products are recommended not to consume the water from the aforementioned batches or the energy drinks from Mister Hemp, pending new evaluations from Anvisa.

Clarification from the company Mamba Water

According to an official statement from the company, there are no records of consumer complaints or any adverse health effects related to the suspended batches. Nor were any impacts identified on other items in the Mamba Water brand line, ensuring that the issue is restricted to specific batches.

Around 82% of the total volume of lots under investigation was preventively removed from circulation, avoiding commercial distribution. The items in question were bottled in a unit authorized by Bebidas Poty S.A., and corrective actions have already been implemented in collaboration with the supplier to resolve the identified failure.

Although the company has not documented cases of negative health effects directly linked to these batches, it issues a crucial warning: people with weakened immune systems may face a higher risk of complications, requiring medical monitoring if consumed.

In view of this, Mamba Water advises that consumers in possession of units from the affected batches avoid consuming the product. It is also recommended that you contact Customer Service (SAC) to request the corresponding refund.
