FromSoftware, the renowned developer behind hits like Dark Souls and Elden Ring, is preparing to launch a closed network test for its highly anticipated title, Duskbloods. Gaming enthusiasts will be able to get a glimpse of the new project next month, as recently announced.

Registration to participate in the test begins on July 22nd at 10am ET and closes on July 28th at 9:59am ET. To access, players will need to own a Nintendo Switch 2 console and an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. This requirement for a demo test is a particularity of Nintendo, highlighting FromSoftware’s unusual choice in developing an exclusive multiplayer game for the platform, which generates discussions in the community. The testing phase will take place between August 21st and 23rd.

This new title represents FromSoftware’s latest bet in the universe of exclusively multiplayer games, following in the footsteps of Elden Ring: Nightreign, which was successful. The first public preview of Duskbloods took place during a 2025 Nintendo Direct, and the network test date was announced in a recent live stream.

Despite the testing period approaching, FromSoftware has kept many details about Duskbloods under wraps. The official statement describes the game as a “PvPvE title with online multiplayer at its core, where up to eight players compete for supremacy against each other and challenging enemies.” A presentation trailer shows an unusual array of characters, including a Victorian nobleman, a dinosaur and a steampunk figure with a jetpack. The general aesthetic refers to gothic horror and vampires, which has already generated comparisons with the acclaimed Bloodborne.

FromSoftware’s decision to invest in another multiplayer title, rather than the elaborate single-player RPGs that are its trademark, was met with some skepticism by the community. It remains to be seen whether Duskbloods will be able to change this initial perception when players have the chance to try it out soon.
