Samsung recently introduced the innovative “Flex Titanium” technology, confirming its implementation in the brand’s next foldable smartphones. However, recent information indicates that the long-awaited Galaxy Z Flip 8 may not be covered by this new feature.

Leaked reports indicate that the “Flex Titanium” structure should be exclusive to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra models. This technology is developed with the aim of effectively eliminating the crease on the screen of foldable devices, a common point of criticism in previous generations.

The Korean giant explained that its proprietary technology integrates a titanium alloy film with a titanium plate. This combination increases the mechanical rigidity of the panel by up to 20 times, vastly surpassing the performance of currently used polymer films.

Additionally, the titanium plate contributes to a more robust connection with the display module, significantly strengthening the structural integrity of the foldable display.

So far, Samsung has not officially commented on these leaks, which leaves the exact reason for the possible absence of the technology in the Galaxy Z Flip 8 open.

An analysis of the current scenario suggests that the company’s decision may be linked to cost issues. The implementation of “Flex Titanium” would make the clamshell-style smartphone more expensive, especially in a period where the prices of components and chips put pressure on the company’s profit margins.

By restricting this improvement to the Fold line, Samsung would direct the benefit of greater resistance to its higher-value models, reinforcing market differentiation between the series.

Additional rumors indicate that the new foldables in the Fold line may also come equipped with a privacy screen and will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 for Galaxy processor.

The launch event, Galaxy Unpacked, is scheduled for next Wednesday, July 22, with live broadcast on the company’s social networks.
