A Fortnite tipster, ShiinaBR, widely recognized for accurate leaks, also shared the image of a second Odyssey-themed skin: the imposing Agamemnon, played by Benny Safdie in the film production.
For players looking to get the Odysseus skin for free, a special tournament will be held within the game, offering the chance to unlock the character. Those who don’t reach the top positions will still be able to get an exclusive Odyssey-themed loading screen as a reward.
It is almost unthinkable that the poet Homer, creator of the “Odyssey”, could predict that his characters would one day be skins in a video game like Fortnite. However, curious adaptations are not uncommon in pop culture, such as an artificial intelligence-narrated version of the poem with the voice of Michael Caine or an entirely AI-generated “Odyssey” film that was unsuccessful.
Main names and roles in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey”
Matt Damon takes on the central role of Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s new adaptation. The actor, who was the first name confirmed in the project, has already collaborated with Nolan on “Interstellar” and “Oppenheimer”, this being his third partnership. Odysseus, king of Ithaca, is known for his 20-year absence from home: a decade in the Trojan War, where he was victorious with the Trojan Horse, and another decade on a long, failed journey back after angering the god Poseidon.
Tom Holland, famous for his role as Spider-Man, plays Telemachus, the son of Odysseus. Telemachus grew up without knowing his father, who left when he was a child. Now an adult, he faces suitors who seek to marry Penelope, his mother, and thus inherit Odysseus’ vast property and fortune. Among the film’s main suitors is Antínoo, played by Robert Pattinson.
Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway also returns to work with Nolan, with whom she previously collaborated on “The Dark Knight Rises” and “Interstellar.” In the film, she plays Penelope, Odysseus’s loyal wife, who has lived for 20 years without news of her husband. She finds herself in a delicate situation, confronted by suitors who want to marry her and possibly take control of Ithaca, and her options for resisting are increasingly limited.
Robert Pattinson, who worked with John David Washington in Nolan’s “Tenet,” takes on the role of Antinous, the chief of the suitors. The film’s second trailer suggests an intense rivalry between Antinous and Telemachus, as the suitor sees Odysseus’ son as an obstacle in his plan to win Penelope and the inheritance. However, fate has a surprise in store for Antinous, as Odysseus is not dead.
Charlize Theron, also an Oscar winner, joins the cast of “The Odyssey” in the role of Calypso. The nymph imprisons Odysseus on the island of Ogygia for seven years, offering him immortality in exchange for his stay. However, the hero is driven by an unshakable desire to return to his family in Ithaca.
With a duration of 2 hours and 53 minutes, “The Odyssey” is scheduled to premiere in theaters this week, on July 17, 2026. In addition to the strong cast, Christopher Nolan promised a film that aims to “break cultural prejudices” about the ancient world, and will feature a gigantic Cyclops, created with practical effects. Many speculate whether this iconic creature will also make an appearance in the Fortnite universe in the future.
