Xiaomi revealed an unprecedented mid-range smartphone, the Redmi Note 17 Pro, which stands out for its robust battery capacity. The device features a mix of entry-level and mid-range specs, including a notable 9,000 mAh battery and a high-quality AMOLED display panel.

Several recent launches on the cell phone market, especially from Chinese brands, have prioritized energy autonomy with large batteries. Following this trend, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 17 Pro offers an impressive 9,000 mAh, a competitive advantage compared to competitors like Oppo and Huawei.

The device’s battery promises an autonomy of up to two days in moderate use, with fast recharging of 67W wired and 22.5W wirelessly. In addition, the manufacturer offers an exclusive program: free battery replacement if its capacity drops below 80% within four years of use, or an upgrade to a higher capacity component after five years.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro’s screen, despite not being premium category, delivers very satisfactory results. The Xiaomi device has a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and maximum brightness of 3,200 nits. It also supports HDR10+ and 10-bit color depth, as well as IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K certifications, ensuring robust protection against water and dust.

Camera settings for everyday use

The smartphone’s camera set has good functionality, with a 50 megapixel main sensor and f/1.8 aperture. On the back, it also includes a 2 MP depth sensor (f/2.4). For selfies and video calls, the front camera is 8 MP, and all sensors allow video recording in 1080p.

One of the components that least stands out in this model is its processor, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4. This Qualcomm chip, launched more than a year ago, is classified as intermediate and offers improvements for games and native artificial intelligence, being common in cell phones in this price range and even in some entry-level ones, which contributes to its competitive price.

Among other specifications, the Redmi Note 17 Pro offers 8 GB of RAM, with the option of versions with 12 GB LPDDR4X. As for internal storage, consumers can choose between 256 GB using the UFS 2.2 protocol or 512 GB with UFS 3.1. The adoption of these specific standards contributes to optimizing the final costs of the device.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro is available in four colors: blue, purple, black and white, with a starting price of 1,599 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately R$1,200 in direct conversion, excluding import taxes. However, the device is sold exclusively in the Chinese market, with no launch planned in other regions, including Brazil.
