Locus Robotics, known for its leadership in flexible warehouse automation, has won the 2026 Cognitive Robotics Innovation Award. The recognition is part of the ninth edition of the annual AI Breakthrough Awards program and was awarded to the Locus Array system. The award highlights Locus Array’s ability to integrate AI-based insight, mobile robotics, robotic manipulation and autonomous execution to manage end-to-end fulfillment workflows within warehouse aisles, marking a crucial advancement in logistics efficiency and adaptation to changing markets.

Among more than five thousand nominations received from more than twenty countries, Locus Robotics was selected for the award. The company appeared alongside big names in the artificial intelligence and technology sector, such as NVIDIA, Snowflake, Dell Technologies, AMD and Qualcomm.

For Rick Faulk, CEO of Locus Robotics, the frontier of artificial intelligence is expanding beyond digital assistants, reaching systems capable of perceiving, reasoning and acting in the physical environment. Faulk highlighted that this transition from simply informing decisions to executing tasks autonomously is the essence of what Locus Array delivers in real-time warehouse operations. He added that the recognition gained reinforces the growing importance of Physical AI so that logistics operations can adapt, execute and scale in real time.

Unlike conventional automation systems, which are developed for predictable scenarios, the Locus Array was designed for environments characterized by constant change. By functioning within the aisles as an intelligent and autonomous system, it expands the possibilities of automation in warehouses. This architecture also includes “Robots-to-Goods” capability, which extends automation directly to inventory within a broader, adaptive fulfillment platform.

Steve Johansson, managing director of AI Breakthrough, said the Locus Array represents a major leap forward in applying artificial intelligence to real-world operations. He explained that modern warehouses require systems that can continually adjust to changing conditions. According to Johansson, the Locus Array delivers exactly this capability, providing operators not only with efficiency, but also with safety when performing tasks in highly dynamic environments.

This recognition adds to a series of important validations that the Locus Array has received from the industry. At the beginning of 2026, the system had already been awarded the Business Intelligence Group’s Artificial Intelligence Excellence Award. Additionally, it was the winner of the 2026 RBR50 Robotics Innovation Award and selected as one of three finalists for the MHI Best New Innovation Award at MODEX 2026.

The AI Breakthrough Awards program, an initiative of Tech Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence and global technological innovation recognition platform, aims to celebrate excellence in artificial intelligence technologies, services, companies and products. The awards provide public recognition for the achievements of AI companies and products in a variety of categories, including Agent AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Robotics, AI Hardware, and Computer Vision.

Locus Robotics has established itself as a leader in warehouse automation that prioritizes flexibility, offering operational security to managers who work in scenarios of constant uncertainty. Recognized as the largest privately held commercial robotics company in the United States by revenue, the company enables organizations to plan, execute and adapt to volume fluctuations, workforce variations and changing order profiles. Through the LocusONE platform, Locus Robotics coordinates fulfillment workflows at every stage, from picking and replenishment to storage, transportation, sorting and packaging, through a unified system of robotics, orchestration and applied AI. This platform delivers predictive visibility, adaptive decision-making and flexible execution, giving operational leaders clear insight into capacity, production and risk without the need for fixed infrastructure or disruptive facility redesigns. The company is used by more than 150 brands in the retail, healthcare, 3PL (third-party logistics) and industrial sectors, in more than 350 locations globally, supporting operations at every stage of the automation journey. Its services are delivered under the pioneering Robots-as-a-Service model.
