Asus, after launching the ROG Phone 9 and 9 Pro models in 2024, chose to stop production of new smartphones. For this reason, the expected ROG Phone 10 and 10 Pro were never launched and there is no prediction that they will exist in the future, marking the end of a highly anticipated line of cell phones in the gaming segment.
However, a firmware leak brought to light details of what the characteristics of these devices would have been if they had been launched. Both models, the ROG Phone 10 and its Pro version, would have the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset as a processor. In addition, they would have 5G connectivity, UFS 4.0 storage, LPDDR5X RAM and support for Wi-Fi 7.
The most advanced version, the ROG Phone 10 Pro, would come equipped with a robust set of cameras. Its main camera would be 50 MP, using OmniVision’s 1/1.3-inch OV50Q sensor, the same one found on the Xiaomi 17. For wide-angle photos, there would be a 13 MP ultrawide lens with OmniVision OV13B10 sensor. A Samsung ISOCELL JD1 sensor would be responsible for the 32 MP telephoto camera, offering 3x optical zoom, and the front selfie camera would be 32 MP, with an OmniVision OV32C sensor.
The ROG Phone 10, the standard model, would have a 50 MP main camera, but using Sony’s IMX766 sensor. It would share the same ultrawide and selfie cameras as the Pro model, and include a 5MP macro camera for details.
It is certain that both devices would bring a wide range of features and optimizations aimed at games, a hallmark of the ROG Phone line. However, the cancellation of the models means that these specific details of their gaming features will remain unknown to the public.
