Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 5 major update arrives on July 23
The fifth season of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone is about to arrive, bringing with it a wide range of new features for players. The massive update launches on July 23, promising to revamp the combat experience with new maps, limited-time game modes, expanded arsenal and themed events.
What’s new in Black Ops 7’s Endgame mode
A new assignment, called Burn Run, challenges participants to race against the clock in a bomb-laden vehicle. You have to stay on the course, cross burning control points and run over objects and enemies to gain bonuses and extra time in the countdown.
Players will also have the chance to enhance their Major and Minor Skills with upgrades found in the Zone IV and Nightmare regions. These enhancements offer reduced reload times, additional ammo, and other benefits.

Multiplayer Mode Highlights with New Maps
- Jubilee (new):A rural Japanese setting, where a festival turns into chaos and the streets become the scene of conflicts.
- Frequency (remastered):The fighting takes players to the mountains of Hunan, in a dispute for control of a global surveillance listening station.
- Dig (remastered):A battle amid ancient ruins at an archaeological site in Avalon, where rival forces clash over what lies beneath.
- Turbo Tilt (new, mid-season):A wild multiplayer map inspired by the story of Nuketown that simulates a pinball machine and arrives mid-season.
- Freerun: Descent (new, mid-season):A brand new Freerun obstacle course, focused on jumps, dives and slides.
Arrival of new limited-time modes to the game
- Overdrive Domination (new):Capture objectives and eliminate targets with style to earn stars and Operator bonuses.
- Gauntlet Rush (new):A competition spanning multiple game modes, including Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, Hardpoint and Roulette. Staying active earns you bonuses and stacks of winnings for extra points.
- Cranked Moshpit (returning, mid-season):Eliminate enemies to activate a timer and gain Operator bonuses. The player’s life ends when time runs out, requiring continuous action.
Return of ranked mode in Black Ops 7
Ranked mode makes its return, bringing new seasonal rewards for those who manage to climb the ranks.
New content for Zombies mode
- New Survival Map: Eidskallen Lighthouse:Players need to reach the highest round using the resources available in a restricted section of Totenreich, consisting of Beacon Island and the Lighthouse. Rewards are awarded for reaching round milestones.
- Kowakujō Directed Mode, Starting Room:Guided mode comes to Kowakujō, offering extra guidance on the Main Quest. In Starting Room, players are taken to the Outer Ward and must survive with the resources available.
- Rogue Run: Astra Malorum:Three new Rogue Run playlists take place in Astra Malorum. Win the round, choose your upgrade, and earn rewards for reaching milestones in this roguelite format of Zombies mode.
- New round-based map (mid-season):Get ready to face the Warden in the round-based finale of Zombies, coming mid-season.
- Perk, GobbleGum, Legacy Weapons (Mid-Season):Fend off the horde with the help of the Widow’s Wine Perk, a new GobbleGum, and two Legacy Weapons.
What’s new in Call of Duty: Warzone
- Drone Labs (launch):Located east of the TV Station and south of the Quarry, this POI releases Drones throughout Verdansk. Players can scour the main buildings for loot or fight through the drone obstacle course in the back. There are rumors about the presence of an armed JLTV at the location for whoever can secure it.
Features and strategic kits for Warzone
- HKDs Killstreak (launch):Guild’s lethal drone technology comes to Resurgence and Battle Royale modes. Pursue this devastating kill streak to drop an aerial charge on enemies.
- Quickdrop Kit (mid-season):Get back into the game faster with this stackable reward that reduces squad redeployment time.
- Resurgence Ranked Play:Rank up and earn rewards in a new season of Resurgence ranked mode.
Season’s Battle Pass and BlackCell details
The latest Battle Pass is led by Spectre, a professional assassin, bringing precision and coolness to combat. By progressing through the Season 5 Battle Pass, players can unlock new weapon blueprints, Operator skins, and more.

Purchasing BlackCell offers additional rewards, including the new Cipher Operator and a Mastercraft weapon blueprint, each with unlockable variants through in-game challenges.
Expanded arsenal with new weapons
In the Battle Pass, players will be able to unlock the FG42 assault rifle and the dual-wield Gremlin SMG. Through in-game events and weekly challenges, you will be able to acquire the Mammoth LMG and Mace melee weapons.
