A leopard injured three people after infiltrating an urban area in the state of Rajasthan, located in northwestern India, on May 20. The incident occurred in the morning and was recorded on video by security cameras.
As reported by authorities in the region, the first attack happened early in the morning, when a forest service volunteer was surprised by the feline. He was there to investigate information about the presence of the animal in a forested area close to the city.
Subsequently, the leopard advanced to the urban perimeter and invaded a liquor store, where it attacked two employees. The increase in wildlife-human encounters like this reflects the growing pressure on natural habitats in India due to the expansion of cities. One of the sellers, aged 25, managed to escape and trap the feline inside the establishment.
Shortly afterwards, a specialized rescue team arrived at the place where the animal was confined. Professionals acted quickly to capture the leopard and ensure the safety of the area for residents and traders.
